Position of the European Parliament on digital copyright rules

On 12 September 2018, the European Parliament (EP) adopted amendments to the European Commission’s draft EU Copyright Directive.     Tech giants must pay for work of artists and journalists which they use.    Small and micro platforms are excluded from the scope of the directive.    Merely sharing hyperlinks to articles, together with “individual words” to describe them, will be free of copyright constraints.    Journalists must get a share of any copyright-related remuneration obtained by their publishing house.Find further information http://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/en/press-room/20180906IPR12103/parliament-adopts-its-position-on-digital-copyright-rules
