The FET Work Programme 2016-2017 has been published

The new FET Work Programme covering 2016 and 2017 has been published. Have a look at the upcoming funding opportunities in FET Open, FET Proactive and FET Flagships.

The new FET Work Programme 2016-2017 is available (total budget € 624,5M) and the calls are pre-announced on the Participant Portal. Check also our brochure.

For FET Open calls, there is a continuity with the previous Work Programme, and an increased budget (€ 259,5M). The novelty is the call for FET Innovation Launchpad, which supports initial steps to turn results from ongoing or recent FET projects into genuine social or commercial innovations.

In FET Proactive, the "Emerging themes and communities" call (€ 80M) further opens up to all technology areas, with four main areas, and ten subtopics, identified from on-line public consultation and other sources.

  • Area 1: Future technologies for societal change
  • Area 2: Biotech for better life
  • Area 3: Disruptive information technologies
  • Area 4: New technologies for energy and functional materials

There are also two FET ERANET Cofund calls, one being on quantum technologies (in 2016).

The FET High Performance Computing calls (€ 85M) focus on co-design of HPC systems and applications, the transition to exascale computing, and the exascale HPC ecosystem development.

In FET Flagships (€ 185M), implementation of Graphene and Human Brain Project will continue, together with funding and coordination of partnering projects of the 2 Flagships, via an ERA-NET Cofund Action and a Coordination and Support Action.

More information will be presented during two dedicated Work Programme thematic sessions during ICT 2015 in Lisbon (Wednesday 21 October: FET Open & Proactive, FET HPC) and live webstreaming will be available.
