ISS Europe 2021 Program

ISS Europe 2021 will promote European partnerships to overcome global challenges, address focused themes towards strengthening Europe's digital and technological sovereignty enabling industry growth and leadership in the digital age:

DAY 1: The Digital Transformation of Europe’s Economies and Societies

The digital transformation of Europe’s economies and societies is accelerating. It is entering a next phase, fueled by a fusion of technologies that gradually blur the lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres. New technologies – and the new business models they enable, building on the use of data – are progressively coming to maturity for at-scale deployment, and will increasingly impact all sectors of the economy.

DAY 2: Sustainability Strategies for a Climate-neutral Europe by 2050

Manufacturing is going through a major transition period. A growing number of industries and companies are working on their sustainability strategies and ways to take their responsibility. The European Commission 1B euro initiative under Green Deal aims at accelerating a sustainable transition to a climate-neutral Europe by 2050. But where do you start and what actions can you take, big or small, to be a part of creating a more sustainable industry? This session is going to review and assess global trends and extract key directions and opportunities for the European industries to excel.

DAY 3: Healthcare for the Future

The COVID 19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of innovative practices across all patient services. At the same time, health is increasingly central to innovation projects as we seek to try and ensure the provision of affordable care to an ageing society. On this day we will discuss the integral part of technology at all stages of healthcare provision; a move to “24 hour” care to match the expectations of patients and ensuring the efficient use of high-cost equipment as well as the increasing integration between traditional "pharma” and technology as drug development, delivery and monitoring become increasingly digitised.
