Description:

The 2016 International Nanotoxicology Congress will take place in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, on June 1 – 4, 2016. This conference is one in a continuing series of international meetings that are broadly focused on nanotoxicology from a highly interdisciplinary perspective.

Since the ‘nanotech boom’, its global market has grown in value to tens of billions of dollars.  While new nanomaterial-enabled products are created each day, there are gaps in our understanding of the hazards that these materials might pose to the health of the individuals that make, formulate, use, and dispose of them as well as to the health of the environment over the intended product life cycle.  Furthermore, very little is known about real-life exposures to these materials.  Thus, the overall safety assessment for this material class is greatly impaired for all but a few specific cases.

The objective of this conference is to bring together scientists from academia, industry, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations to present current research findings, focus their respective talents and expertise, and initiate new collaborations in an effort to ensure the safe implementation of nanotechnology. The Advisory Board is working now to develop the scientific program for this conference, which will include plenary lectures, symposia, workshops, poster sessions, and dedicated time for presentations by young scientists.
