Description:

The strategic use and management of Intellectual Property (IP) – in business as well as in international research initiatives – is essential for strengthening the European scientific and technological base, boosting innovation and ensuring growth in the EU. In this context the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation, Horizon 2020, places even more emphasis on systematic IP exploitation strategies as a means to better protect innovation initiatives and to reap commercial and economic benefits from EU-funded research. Therefore this IP training event will address the overall topic of how to create value through professional management and exploitation of IP – with a special focus on IP in the field of healthcare. Following a very practical and comprehensive training approach, participants will be made familiar with central concepts and strategies on how to turn intellectual assets into value-creating innovations and increase impact with concrete examples in using IP as a strategic tool and how to transfer innovative ideas into valuable assets. By this, this training event addresses particularly SMEs and researchers interested in using Horizon 2020 more strategically for strengthening their innovation capacities. This event is free of charge; however a registration is mandatory. Please also note that the organisers of the training do not offer travel grants or any arrangements.Further details to the program, draft agenda and speakers profiles can be found here exploitation_ws_dublin_draft_agenda.pdfPlease note that the training is not open for consultants!Deadline for Registration is April 22th, 2016.
