Erik Vermeulen, Professor of Business and Financial Law at Tilburg University and Tilburg Law and Economics Center (TILEC) and evaluator for Horizon 2020 SME Instrument programme talks about his views and gives some tips for potential applicants for the SME Instrument.
He considers it as a relevant programme not only for having helpfully features, but also for its buzz. "More and more companies ask me about the SME Instrument, how to apply, what are the best practices, etc., which is great because it creates a buzz, the more buzz the more it will be connected in the entrepreneurial ecosystem", states Professor Vermeulen. To have success a good proposal from the SME is essential; therefore Vermeulen recommends them when writing the application "focus on the business creation, which should be visible and accessible".
