Appraisal Procedures of Major Projects planned for European Regional Development Fund or Cohesion Fund funding in 2014-2020

By their dimensions, complexity and impact, major projects require significant financial resources and time to prepare at appropriate quality requirements. They are subject to new and different appraisal and approval procedures before a final conclusion is made by the Commission about their EU funding. These include important changes compared to the 2007-2013 programming period and therefore require smooth and timely adaptation by project promoters and managing authorities.

Cohesion policy and financing opportunities for smart and clean urban development in 2nd tier cities

The recent flagship initiative "Energy Union" and the roadmap proposed therein will influence the day-to-day life of citizens and ways of doing business in the EU. Tthe concept of "one-stop shops" should be further developed for investors and public administrations alike with regard to administrative simplification and blending of financial instruments, particularly in buildings, energy infrastructure and waste management.

State of Play of integrated Community-Led Local Development across four European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF)

The workshop will take stock of the way Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) has been programmed in four European Structural and Investment Funds (ERDF, ESF, EAFRD and EMFF). The four DGs concerned will draw out a comprehensive figure of investments planned by the Member States and present different models used to deliver multi-funding at local level.  Practical examples will also be presented by four representatives of managing authorities to illustrate different forms of integration of the Funds.The expected outcome is a wider take-up of this approach before the deadline for the selecti

Public workshop Financing Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Heating & Cooling

This workshop has following objectives:1. Discuss how the available EU programmes and instruments can help cities and regions launch large-scale investments in energy eciency of buildings and in the heating and cooling sector. 2. Show how EU nancial instruments can be used to support energy eciency in existing buildings through project development assistance and to nance the investments borne by Energy Performance Contracting providers (‘ESCOs’) through loans and guarantees in combination with grants. 3.
