Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) push the boundaries of human knowledge. Unconventional ways of thinking and creativity open novel and visionary fields of research that radically shift. Our project aims to bring together artists and FET projects using best practice methods to create high-impact collaborative outcomes including the production of new artworks, major exhibitions, media campaigns, and socially engaged events including festivals, debates and participatory workshops.

Within the FET Flagships call, proposals are invited in 2016 against the topic: "Partnering environment for FET Flagships." The two FET Flagships, Graphene and the Human Brain Project, will be funded under Horizon 2020 jointly by the Commission and the Member States through a new and flexible partnering and governance model. This model is built around a large EU-funded Core Project and a number of Partnering Projects (PPs) funded at transnational, national or regional levels.

The Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Open call for Coordination and Support Actions (CSA) includes a new topic under the Horizon 2020 WP2016-17: the Innovation Launchpad. What is it for and how can you participate in this call?

FET Open continues to foster early-stage research for radically new technological possibilities. It supports promising novel ideas from all technological areas without prescribing any theme. Funding is available for Research and Innovation Actions as well as for Coordination and Support Actions. Two topics are currently open.

In the FET Work Programme for 2016-2017, the FET Proactive call "Boosting emerging technologies" consists of 3 topics: "Emerging themes and communities"; "FET ERANET Cofund in Quantum Technologies" (both with a deadline in April 2016), and "FET ERANET Cofund" (deadline in January 2017). There is also a dedicated call for proposals on High Performance Computing (the first topic for this has a deadline in September 2016).

Commissioner for the Digital Economy and Society, Gunther H. Oettinger, and Minister of Economic Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Henk Kamp, today visited QuTech, a world-class institute building devices for Quantum Computers and Quantum Internet in Delft. The Commissioner and the Minister stated that action is needed to ensure Europe remains a world leader in Quantum Technology.
