INTERACT is a network of terrestrial research infrastructures spread through-out Arctic and northern alpine regions that is building research and monitoring capacity dedicated to rapidly changing cold environments. It plays a major role in documenting environmental changes and facilitating their prediction.

Implemented as a distributed infrastructure in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania, ELI will be the first infrastructure identified by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) to be located in new Member States.

The next International Conference on Research Infrastructures will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 3 to 5 October 2016, hosted by the South African Department of Science and Technology (DST) in collaboration with the European Commission.

Science Europe is today releasing a Survey Report on ‘Strategic Priorities, Funding and Pan- European Co-operation for Research Infrastructures in Europe’.

The 26-page report describes the decision-making landscape when it comes to the planning, funding and collaboration of public scientific research facilities in Europe. It gives insight into the diversity of processes in place to define strategic priorities across the different national research systems.
