Call for showcasing role of skills in green transition

The European Training Foundation (ETF) has extended the deadline for its call for examples of good practice on the role of skills in empowering the green transition, which will provide ideas and inspiration for education and training policy-makers and practitioners in the EU neighbourhood and beyond. The call, entitled ‘Green transition: education, training and skills’,aims to collect stories about how education, training and skills development are supporting the shift towards sustainable, clean, carbon-neutral circular economies and societies.

Live virtual event: Investing in Climate Action - The Make-or-Break Decade

“Investing in Climate Action: The Make-or-Break Decade” is a live virtual event, organized by the European Commission, the European Investment Bank and Project Syndicate, that is taking place on 24 March 2021. The decade 2021-2030 is a “make-or-break” moment for us all to address our planet's climate and environment emergency. Alongside experts from China, Kenya, the US and the EU, they will assess the progress made so far and examine how public and private capital can work together to achieve a just transition to a “net-zero” emissions economy.

EUCircularTalks: Trade, Resource Extraction & Circular Economy

The event will bring together the trade and circular economy communities to increase awareness of the issues raised in the UNEP-IRP report Sustainable Trade in Resources and to feed into the upcoming discussion on the EU’s trade policy review and the future of the WTO.

International Day of Forests | 21 March

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 March the International Day of Forests in 2012. The organizers are the United Nations Forum on Forests and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with Governments, the Collaborative Partnership on Forests and other relevant organizations in the field. The Day celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all types of forests.

Pathways to extend sustainable water reuse practices in Europe

The International SUWANU EUROPE Conference will be held on the 18th and 19th of May 2021. This virtual live event brings high-profile experts to create the necessary debate over the best solutions and strategies to expand water reuse in agriculture. The Conference is organized under SUWANU EUROPE, a Thematic Network funded by the European Commission within the Horizon 2020 programme. SUWANU EUROPE is focused on promoting the use of reclaimed water in agriculture as a Circular Economy approach to cope with water scarcity and the effects of climate change on water resources.
