Workshop for Mathematics and Digital Science

A workshop for Mathematics and Digital Science organised by DG CONNECT (Unit C1 – eInfrastructure) took place in November, with around 50 mathematicians with expertise in the mathematical disciplines related to big data and High Performance Computing (HPC) from around Europe, and even from the US. Notably, this included also the Chair of European Research Council, Dr Jean-Pierre Bourguignon, as well as the Joint Research Centre. The workshop was preceded by an open online consultation.

Partner Search in Biomedical Technologies

The Graphene Flagship has launched an invitation for Expressions of Interest for new industrial partners working on Biomedical Technologies. The deadline for submission of proposals is 16 March 2015.

The selected new partners will be incorporated in the scientific and technological work packages of the first core project under the Horizon 2020 phase of the Flagship, that is presently being planned and that will run during 1 April 2016 – 31 March 2018.

Partner Search in Innovative Carbon Nanotube Synthesis

A consortium is aiming at exploring a new approach to produce single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs). Expertise is sought in Electron Microscopy (STM, TEM, AFM), Materials Science, Photovoltaics, Composite Materials.

The aim of the CoSCNano project is to develop practical and scalable syntheses for carbon nanotubes and related nanostructured materials with well-defined dimensions, which should exhibit exceptional properties useful in diverse fields of materials science.

Winter Workshop on Complex Systems 2015
